Having seen his fair share of trouble and rap beefs, T.I. knows first-hand how costly controversy can be. So he had some great advice for his friend Jeezy and his former rap rival Rick Ross.

“I ain’t gonna say I brokered peace and got them in the studio, I simply said to one of my closest partners in the game — Young Jeezy — I simply said to him, ‘We done did as much as we can do with this. It’s gone as far as we can take it, ain’t nothing else to do’,” he told MTV News on Tuesday while he was driving up to Los Angeles.

Tip called up to talk about his role as Lucas Frye on Showtime’s “House of Lies” and working alongside acting greats like Don Cheadle and Mekhi Phifer. But I pressed T.I. about “War Ready,” the newly released single off Rick Ross’ Mastermind that pairs Rozay and Jeezy.

The contention between the two began brewing around August 2010, when the Snowman released a freestyle over Ross’ “B.M.F.” instrumental, and escalated until it reportedly got physical at the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards.

Now, with the release of “War Ready,” it seems that the two rappers have buried the hatchet.

“If it ain’t nothing that can’t be talked about, that hasn’t gone so far that a motherf–ker can’t come back and do what the f— we do man, get money. War costs money,” Tip said. “Young ain’t the type of mother—er you can just tell what to do, but if you can present something that makes more sense then what he had, go on, he will give you the opportunity to make it make sense to him. And I think the same for Ross. They exhausted all of their other possible opportunities.”

Clearly the Boss agrees. “The mark of a powerful man is not only his ability to make war, but to also make peace,” Ross told MTV News in a statement on Friday. “That’s why it was nothing for me and Jeezy to work out whatever past differences and get back in the booth to make history.”
