In 2012,when rumors of Simon Cowell’s entry into electronic music began circulating the internet, the entire scene reeled in disgust. Thankfully plans for the show were squashed a few months later – the legitimacy of electronic music and the DJing artform left intact. Enter Doron Orfir Casting, the evil masterminds behind the wildly successful Jersey Shore. Their website, www.edmcasting.com, provides us with a brief sense of what to expect out of the proposed competition – an over-the-top and incredibly kitsch mainstream attempt at appealing to the “EDM Generation.”
