Forbes is back with their annual wealthiest Hip-Hop artist ranking list. This year’s “Forbes Five” is lead by Diddy, who takes the No. 1 spot again with an estimated $820 million. The Bad Bay CEO and mogul can thank his lucrative Cîroc vodka deal with Diageo for playing a part in his reign at the top. Diddy edges out JAY Z, who comes in second with $810 million this year. Along with his Roc Nation empire thriving in management, music, and sports, his fortune has jumped 30% in the past year after his $200 million investment from Sprint.
Dr. Dre comes in at No. 3 with $740 million, lead by his sale of Beats to Apple for $3 billion. Cash Money Records CEO Bryan ‘Birdman’ Williams comes in at No. 4 with $110 million, and his artist Drake rounds out the top 5 with $90 million. Drake’s deals with Nike, Sprite and Apple played a big part in the Canadian rapper’s success last year, plus the huge sales his projects VIEWS and More Life each produced.
