The Wall Street Journal reports that SFX Entertainment will relaunch Beatport in 2015, adding a streaming service to the electronic music store. Users will be able to stream the store’s catalog for free. The service will be supported by advertisements. The company is currently working on securing licensing agreements with labels.

The streaming service will be an extension of Beatport Pro, a new beta version of Beatport’s store. There is also a Beatport Pro application for Macs, which is like an iTunes for DJs.

Many DJs use Beatport to buy music for their sets, but this streaming service would likely discourage the average listener from paying for music. The online store already offers two minute previews of tracks.
