Michael Mauro may not be a household name, but he’s directly responsible for some of the most remarkable performances in live music. The M99 team, led by Mauro, has worked outside of concerts, creating sets for Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert‘s TV shows.
In this HYPEBEAST Impressions clip, we follow Mauro as he creates the eye-catching visuals for Uzi, going from planning and practicing stages in the studio to the live show, where enormous crosses and jets of flame accompany Lil Uzi Vert on stage. As Mauro notes, “we’re just trying to enhance the artist’s visual story with music, and the lighting, and the visuals.”
