Ahead of their highly anticipated Culture II album release next Friday (Jan. 26), the Migos have embarked on a media tour, which made a stop at Beats1 Thursday (Jan.18) to chop it up with Ebro Darden. The normally reserved group happened to open up and let fans into their world for a change, being candid throughout the conversation. The Atlanta trio gave an update on the Joe Budden feud, taking home some hardware at this year’s Grammy Awards and detailed how “MotorSport” and “Stir Fry” came together. Quavo even went on to admit Takeoff was the best in the group.

Regarding “MotorSport,” Quavo revealed he already had the song in his possession and was recording in New York. He then took the initiative and made calls to Nicki Minaj and Cardi B to hop on board: “I told Cardi, ‘I think you should get on the record,'” to which the Bronx native said hell yeah. “It’s been magic ever since then,” according to Huncho.

When the dialogue shifted to the Grammy Awards, the Migos boasted a brash confidence in potentially winning Best Rap Album. “Everyone dropped albums, but the way we were all over the place and made ourselves household names,” said Huncho. “I feel like we worked the album for a whole year and rode it the whole year. That’s why I feel it’s our time to take that Grammy home.” Offset chimed in, “You could see the people being touched by it and the influence of the records. We still came with another sound on the Culture record…. We keep giving to the game.”
