The late DJ AM gets a proper tribute with the newly released documentary As I Am: The Life and Times of DJ AM. Debuting at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival,the biopic provides an intimate look into Adam Goldstein, the man behind turntables. Joining Sway in the Morning, director Kevin Kerslake discusses Goldstein’s notorious battle with substance abuse, his celebrity status as well as the childhood traumas that helped shape his life. An industry leader, prior to his sudden death he pushed the envelope with his unique ability to blend pop with Hip Hop. Kerslake explained, “AM just had this love of music and wanted to put it out there.”
