The Wu-Tang Clan’s getting a lot of attention for its announcement that the secret, one-of-a-kind, Cher-featuring Once Upon a Time in Shaolin album won’t be available for the public to purchase for 88 years. But member Method Man is of the opinion that the idea of waiting until 2103 is totally stupid.

Speaking with XXL about his new movie The Cobbler, the rapper-turned-actor wasn’t even aware the Wu-Tang timeline was a thing.

“What do you mean 88 years?” he said initially, and then had the concept explained to him.

“F— that album,” he continued. “I’m tired of this shit and I know everybody else is tired of it too. F— that album, if that’s what they are doing. I haven’t heard anything like that, but if they’re doing crap like that, f— that album. Straight up. I’m just keeping it 100. When music can’t be music and y’all turning it into something else, f— that. Give it to the people, if they want to hear the shit, let them have it. Give it away free. I don’t give a f—; that ain’t making nobody rich or poor. Give the f—ing music out. Stop playing with the public, man.”

He said he was a fan of the original one-of-a-kind concept but that this new wait for any release was what he found annoying.

“I dug the whole idea in the beginning,” he said. “I’m like, ‘Wow, this has never been done before.’ I was cool with shit. But now, this is ridiculous. 88 years? Really? If that shit is true, that shit is stupid. You have to wait 88 years to hear some shit? By that time, it’s going to be f—in’ played out. If it ain’t already played out. I hope that’s a rumor. Whoever said that, that shit is f—in’ stupid.”
